Community-based Support Resources

WFFSJ is a group of neighbors who live, work, and have ties to St. Johns and surrounding areas.

We build relationships of trust, connection, and dignity of all people, regardless of the color of your skin, where you were born, what you believe, or who you love. We have come together to resist the Trump agenda to defend, protect, and empower others who believe in caring for their fellow humans.

We are fighting to create a real path to a better world, starting with our community and ending in the halls of power. We believe in an end to oppression and poverty, an end to corruption, better working conditions, better healthcare, and better government.

What do we do?

Work that furthers human dignity and empowers our neighbors and representatives to stand up and fight is worth doing. We work together to stand up for the rights of immigrants, documented or otherwise. We show up as allies for trans youth in our schools, in our streets, and with our representatives. We fight for healthcare and reproductive rights for all. We collaborate with national organizations to show our resistance to the regime, and we build networks of power by connecting with other groups aligned with our values. We protest, attend city council meetings, write letters, and make calls. Most of all, we organize, nonviolently, in community, allowing us the unified power of action.

How can you get involved?

WFFSJ grows through posters, protests, and word of mouth. We are part of Indivisible, a nationwide movement of thousands of volunteer-led local groups that engage in progressive advocacy and electoral work at the local, state, and national levels. We are entirely volunteer, sharing the responsibility for building a resilient North Portland, and we would love your help.
